The standard EN ISO 17665-1 for validation of steam sterilization processes requires monitoring of steam penetration inside of hollow instruments with every cycle. Therefore, the gke Ophthal-BMS can be used if packed phaco hand pieces are the goods most difficult to be sterilized. The gke Ophthal-BMS consists of a process challenge device (PCD) and an indicator strip. The PCD can be used for an unlimited number of cycles. The durable material ensures reproducible results. The Ophthal-BMS is not calibrated to the requirements of a sterilizer standard but to the requirements for a typical packaged ophthalmic load
